"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler." ~ Albert Einstein
“What am I, chopped liver?” used to be my favorite saying. I’m short and slight, and easily overlooked, usually blending into the background. I used to get so frustrated at being ignored when waiting for service, or to be seated at a restaurant, even waiting for a green light (it never turned green until another car joined me at the signal). For a while I thought I was invisible; no one seemed to notice me. I sort of liked the invisibility idea.
Often we’re told that when we feel like we don’t have all we want or need, that we should think of the starving people in third world countries, or on people who have severe disabilities, so that by comparison, our woes seem trivial. It occurred to me today to instead focus on the abundance that we do have, rather than on what we are lacking. So, I made a list of everything that proves that the universe is incredibly abundant. Some of the items on the list (not in any particular order):
• The best husband in the world
• Beautiful leafing trees
• Awesome, loving sons
