My desk faces the window, and several trees that are filled with wildlife. Squirrels play in the branches, birds alight, twitter and fly away. The branches sway in the wind, or shake in blinding rainstorms, or turn beautiful colors and fall. The sky is brilliant blue, dotted with cottony clouds, or thunderous and grey, lit by lightning, or simply soft and misty.

How can I possibly get work done with all that going on right in front of me?

Well, I actually do my best work right here. Being able to stop from time to time and just appreciate the beautiful life that presents itself moment to moment lifts my spirits and fills me with inspiration. It reminds me to be here, now. It is the easiest way for me to be present, having this constant reminder of the glorious universe that creates and sustains us.

How lucky I am to have such a window, such a view!
