High-Achieving Women:
You’re all about making an impact, influencing the world around you in a positive and memorable way. One big obstacle to doing this is effective communication: to your managers, your staff and your peers.

As a High-Achieving Woman, you struggle with getting your innovative ideas across to upper management. It’s almost like the executives don’t even hear your words.

You may also struggle to make your staff productive. You unconsciously expect people to have the same attitude towards the job that you do: get it done fast, and get it done right. As a result, you may come across as a harsh taskmaster, hard to please and too demanding.

You just don’t understand when some of your people look at you with blank expressions, and ask what you want them to do. When you’re given a job to do, you ask a few clarifying questions, but never “How do you want me to do this?” So when a subordinate asks you that question, you’re at a loss at what to say.

Tune in next week to see how our High-Achieving Woman, Elizabeth, overcomes her communications challenge…
